Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is of finding an instrument in her attic and being fascinated by the music it could create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not as a job or a hobby however, as a chance to improve. So she started her own compositions. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. When her mother told her that the songs she wrote could be used to not be famous for her, rather to help people to see the importance of their work and influence in this world, she began singing them in public. She started playing piano when she was only six and was writing her first song when she was nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was fourteen. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. She just loves to write songs. According to her music, is the most efficient means of communicating anything.
