Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. She was born and raised at home in New York New York. Bassett moved with her older sister St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order so that they could be near their mom and father, who had separated from their father. Bassett saw James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play as she was still in highschool and realized that it was acting she would like to be doing. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. The year 1997 was the time she married Courtney B. Vance who was an actor in the same group. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a Master's Degree of African American studies, in 1980.
